Kayla and Mathieu’s White Point Beach Resort wedding brought together everything we love about a coastal celebration in Nova Scotia: lakeside preparations, an oceanfront ceremony, live Celtic fiddle music, beautiful beach portraits and an unforgettable golden-hour session beside the Atlantic.

Atlantic Memories Photography provided both wedding photography and multi-angle videography, preserving their complete wedding story from an engagement session at nearby Beach Meadows to their emotional ceremony, lodge reception and first dance.

Located near Liverpool on Nova Scotia’s South Shore, White Point Beach Resort gave the couple and their guests an opportunity to enjoy an entire wedding experience in one beautiful coastal destination.

A Nova Scotia Wedding at White Point Beach Resort

White Point Beach Resort is one of Nova Scotia’s most distinctive coastal wedding destinations.

Its combination of Atlantic Ocean scenery, a peaceful lake, sandy beach, cottages, lakeside glomes and welcoming reception spaces gives couples an incredible variety of settings without requiring them to spend their wedding day travelling between locations.

For wedding photography and videography, that variety provides an opportunity to tell a complete story. Kayla and Mathieu’s wedding began beside the lake, continued in an oceanfront cottage and moved through an oceanside ceremony, beach portraits, dinner, speeches, dancing and sunset photographs.

Although every part of the celebration took place at White Point, the scenery changed beautifully throughout the day.

A Beach Meadows Engagement Session

Before the Wedding

Kayla and Mathieu’s wedding experience began several days before the ceremony.

On Monday evening, ahead of their Saturday wedding, we met them for an engagement photography session at Beach Meadows Beach near Liverpool. It was a beautiful way to begin their wedding week while creating a second set of coastal photographs in a setting that felt different from White Point.

An engagement session is valuable for much more than photographs. It gives us an opportunity to get to know the couple, learn what makes them feel comfortable and introduce them to the relaxed posing and candid prompts we use.

By the time their wedding arrived, Kayla and Mathieu already knew what to expect from us. That familiarity helped their wedding portraits feel relaxed and natural, even when we were working

within a full wedding-day timeline.

Beach Meadows provided a peaceful shoreline, open ocean views and soft evening light. The photographs complemented their White Point wedding beautifully while still giving them a completely separate experience and location.

Bridal Preparations in a White Point Lakeside Glome

Kayla’s wedding morning began inside one of White Point’s beautiful lakeside glomes.

The glome provided a peaceful and distinctive place for the bride to prepare, surrounded by the people closest to her. Inside, we photographed the finishing touches, bridal details and natural moments shared between Kayla and her wedding party.

Getting-ready photographs are an important part of a complete wedding story. They preserve the anticipation, excitement and relationships surrounding the couple before the ceremony begins.

We documented details such as Kayla’s dress, jewellery, shoes and bouquet before moving into candid photographs of the preparations. We also created carefully composed bridal portraits that highlighted the design of her gown while retaining the natural atmosphere of the morning.

After photographing inside, we stepped outdoors for portraits overlooking the beautiful lake. The calm water and surrounding landscape gave these images a quiet, elegant feeling that contrasted beautifully with the oceanfront photographs we would create later.

Groom and Groomsmen Photographs by the Ocean

While Kayla prepared beside the lake, Mathieu and his groomsmen spent the morning in an oceanfront cottage.

We photographed Mathieu’s final preparations, individual groom portraits and his time with the groomsmen. The mood was relaxed, giving everyone an opportunity to enjoy the morning while we documented a mixture of polished portraits and candid interactions.

The cottage’s proximity to the Atlantic allowed us to bring the White Point landscape into this part of the wedding story. We created wider photographs showing the groom and his wedding party within the coastal surroundings, along with closer portraits focused on Mathieu and the details he had chosen for the day.

Having the bride and groom prepare in two different areas of the resort added visual variety to the gallery. Kayla’s photographs had the calm atmosphere of the lake, while Mathieu’s reflected the rugged oceanfront character of White Point.

A Relaxed and Beautifully Organized Wedding Day

Kayla and Mathieu’s White Point Beach Resort wedding felt relaxed and organized from beginning to end.

A great deal of that smooth experience came from the help of their on-site day-of coordinator, Megan, and the incredible White Point staff.

Megan was a wonderful familiar face for the Atlantic Memories team. We had previously worked with her during a New Year’s Gala at White Point, and it was a pleasure to work alongside her again for Kayla and Mathieu’s wedding.

She helped keep the timeline moving, communicated with the couple and vendors and ensured the important details were ready at the right time. Her calm, organized presence allowed Kayla and Mathieu to remain focused on their celebration instead of managing wedding-day logistics.

The White Point staff were also incredibly helpful as everyone prepared for the 4:00 p.m. oceanside ceremony and the cocktail hour that would follow.

A 4:00 P.M. Oceanside Wedding Ceremony

At 4:00 p.m., Kayla and Mathieu’s guests gathered on the oceanside lawn overlooking the Atlantic.

The ceremony setting felt unmistakably Nova Scotian. The sound of the waves, movement of the ocean breeze and expansive coastal landscape created an incredible atmosphere as the wedding party made its way toward the ceremony.

Surrounded by their family and friends, Kayla and Mathieu exchanged their vows with the Atlantic Ocean behind them.

Our photography coverage preserved individual expressions, emotional reactions and defining moments throughout the ceremony. At the same time, our multi-angle video coverage recorded the movement, voices, music and complete sequence of events.

We documented the wedding-party processional, Kayla’s entrance, Mathieu’s reaction, their vows, exchange of rings, first kiss and joyful walk back down the aisle as husband and wife.

The ceremony was beautiful to witness and equally meaningful to preserve through both photographs and video.

Live Celtic Wedding Music by The Fine Tuners

Kayla and Mathieu’s ceremony was accompanied by beautiful live music from The Fine Tuners.

The Fine Tuners were another familiar part of the vendor team. We previously had the pleasure of working alongside them at another wedding, and it was wonderful to see them performing at White Point.

Their live violin and Celtic fiddle music suited the oceanside setting beautifully. It created an elegant atmosphere for the ceremony before bringing a lively East Coast character to the cocktail hour.

Anthony Rissesco is a classically trained violinist and accomplished fiddle player. With a degree in Classical Performance from Dalhousie University, he brings exceptional musical skill and versatility to wedding ceremonies and live events.

Stephen MacNeil holds a degree in Jazz Performance from St. Francis Xavier University. He handles live instruments, professional DJ services, sound and event coordination, helping couples move seamlessly from ceremony music to cocktail-hour entertainment and the evening reception.

Following their live performance, Stephen provided professional DJ services for dinner, the first dances and the celebration inside the lodge.

Couples looking for live wedding music and professional DJ services can visit The Fine Tuners or contact them at 902-240-3397

A Beautiful White Point Cocktail Hour

Immediately following the ceremony, guests were welcomed into a thoughtfully prepared cocktail hour.

The White Point team created a beautiful presentation of food, refreshments and fine wines for the couple’s guests. It gave everyone an opportunity to relax, connect and enjoy the resort while congratulating Kayla and Mathieu. With live Celtic fiddle music from The Fine Tuners, ocean air and the welcoming service of the White Point staff, the cocktail hour felt elegant without becoming overly formal.

We documented the food presentation, wine service, musical performance and candid interactions between guests. These photographs help preserve the atmosphere surrounding a wedding, not only its major traditions.

While the newlyweds will always remember their ceremony and first dance, the gallery also allows them to revisit the laughter, conversations and smaller moments happening around them.

Wedding Party and Family Photographs at White Point

Following the ceremony, we organized the couple’s family and wedding-party photographs.

Our goal during this part of the day was to work efficiently while still creating polished, meaningful portraits. A carefully prepared family-photo list and an organized timeline allowed us to capture the important combinations without keeping guests waiting unnecessarily.

We created traditional family photographs alongside relaxed wedding-party images that reflected the personalities and relationships within the group.

White Point’s combination of ocean views, greenery and open space allowed us to select a background that felt connected to the venue without distracting from the people in the photographs.

Dinner, Speeches and First Dances in the Lodge

After their beach portraits, Kayla and Mathieu returned to the beautiful main lodge to continue the celebration with their guests.

The lodge provided a warm, welcoming atmosphere for dinner, speeches and dancing. It was a wonderful contrast to the open coastal scenery surrounding the ceremony and portraits. During dinner and speeches, we focused on both the person speaking and the reactions happening throughout the room. Some of the most meaningful reception photographs are not necessarily of the speech itself, but of a parent laughing, a friend becoming emotional or the newlyweds sharing a look across the table. After dinner, Kayla and Mathieu shared their first dance. Surrounded by the people who had travelled to celebrate with them, it became another emotional part of their wedding story. Stephen MacNeil of The Fine Tuners provided professional DJ services for the reception, helping the celebration transition naturally from dinner and speeches into the first dances and evening entertainment.

Golden-Hour Wedding Photographs: Pure Magic

As the sun moved lower, we briefly stepped away from the reception with Kayla and Mathieu for golden-hour portraits.

It was absolutely worth it. Golden hour can transform the beach at White Point. The softer evening light creates warmth across the sand, sky and water while giving the newlyweds a few quiet minutes together before returning to their guests.

The resulting photographs felt romantic, cinematic and completely different from the portraits we had created earlier in the afternoon.

This is why we encourage couples planning a White Point Beach Resort wedding to check the sunset time for their date and reserve

approximately 10 to 15 minutes for evening photographs.

A golden-hour session does not need to take couples away from their reception for long. When it is carefully built into the timeline, even a few minutes can produce some of the most memorable photographs in the entire wedding gallery.

For Kayla and Mathieu, the result was pure magic.

Kayla & Mathieu’s Cinematic

White Point Wedding Film

Preserving How Their Wedding Day Felt

Kayla and Mathieu chose professional photography and videography, allowing us to preserve their wedding in two complementary ways.

Their cinematic wedding film brings together the most emotional and visually beautiful moments from the day: preparations by the lake and ocean, anticipation before the ceremony, their vows, live Celtic music, beach portraits, speeches, first dance and golden-hour magic.

Photography freezes individual moments. Film preserves movement, voices, music and atmosphere.

A cinematic wedding film allows the couple to hear the laughter, see the movement of Kayla’s dress in the ocean breeze and revisit the emotions that passed so quickly during the celebration.

Rather than simply recording events, the film tells the story of the day in a concise, emotional and cinematic way.

The Complete Multi-Angle Wedding Ceremony Video

Preserving Their Oceanfront Vows in Full

In addition to their cinematic film, Kayla and Mathieu received a separate complete ceremony video.

The cinematic film tells the broader emotional story of the wedding, while the full ceremony video preserves this part of the day as it happened.

Using multiple camera angles allowed us to record the processional, Kayla’s entrance, the couple’s expressions, their exchanged vows, rings, live music, first kiss and recessional from complementary perspectives.

The value of a complete ceremony film often becomes even greater with time. It allows a couple to hear their vows again, revisit the voices and reactions of loved ones and share the full ceremony with family members who could not attend.

Together, their photographs, cinematic film and complete ceremony video created a more complete record of their White Point Beach Resort wedding.

Why Couples Choose White Point Beach Resort for Their Wedding

White Point gives couples the opportunity to host an entire wedding experience in one coastal destination.

Some of its greatest advantages include:

  • Oceanside and lakeside wedding scenery
  • On-site accommodations for couples and guests
  • Beautiful beach portrait locations
  • Lakeside glomes and oceanfront cottages
  • Indoor reception spaces
  • Professional events staff
  • Food and beverage service
  • Golden-hour photography opportunities
  • Nearby South Shore engagement locations
  • A relaxed East Coast atmosphere

Because the important parts of the wedding can happen on the property, couples spend less time travelling between locations and more time celebrating with their guests.

For destination couples and families travelling from outside Nova Scotia, on-site accommodations also make it easier to turn the wedding into a full weekend experience.

Our Favourite White Point Wedding Photography Locations

White Point Beach Resort offers several distinct settings for wedding photography.

White Point Beach

The beach is ideal for romantic newlywed portraits, walking photographs and wider images that showcase the Atlantic Ocean. Its mixture of sand, rocks, waves and open sky creates several different looks within a relatively small area.

The Lakeside Area

The lake provides a quieter and more intimate atmosphere. It is especially beautiful for bridal portraits, getting-ready photographs and images with softer scenery.

The Oceanside Lawn

The oceanside lawn connects the ceremony directly to White Point’s coastal identity. It provides beautiful ocean views while remaining convenient for guests and the nearby reception spaces.

Oceanfront Cottages and Lakeside Glomes

White Point’s accommodations contribute to the visual story of the wedding. They provide meaningful settings for getting-ready photographs while showing where the couple and wedding party spent the morning.

The Main Lodge

The lodge offers a warm interior setting for reception photographs, speeches, dinner, first dances and candid evening moments.

The Beach at Golden Hour

When the weather cooperates, the beach around sunset can produce some of the most romantic photographs of the day. We recommend reserving a small opening in the timeline for evening portraits.
